When we first arrived at the camp, I had two feelings: relief, and confusion. I was happy we made it to Bangladesh. My husband and children were alive. This felt like a miracle. But the camp was not what I expected. It was just a big, open sky -no homes, only tents. We were given a plastic sheet and bamboo sticks. It could be worse. We could all be dead.

Ajida, her family and other refugees had to walk through the forests at night to avoid being shot dead by the "Buddhist" since they came around during the day to see who was trying to escape. The others saw this as an opportunity to rest during the day and travel at night.

Once arriving the refugee camp in Bangladesh, they were situated to the camp in the mountains to live, and they weren't allowed to leave or else they would be told to leave Bangladesh all together. Ajida remembered how her mother taught her to make pots out of clay and was offered a job for this talent.
