The Shepherd goes in the palace to tell Oedipus that he is the former slave of Laius.
CLIMAX
Nooo!!!
The messenger reminds the Shepherd about the baby he found. He confessed that he gave the baby to the messenger. After Oedipus threatens the Shepherd, he admits that the baby was innate in Laius's house. Oedipus realize that all prophecies are true. 
FALLING ACTION
I am ashamed of what I have done. I deserve this punishment of being blind!
Jocasta tries to comfort Oedipus by explaining why she did all of that just to avoid the prophecy. Oedipus realizes that she is his mother and he realized that he is the one who killed King Laius which is his father.
RESOLUTION
I bring many troubles here in this place. I lost all of my loved ones. 
Because of the stress, shame, and consequences of their actions. Jocasta commits suicide because she cannot take that she had intimate moments with her son which is Oedipus. Oedipus saw Jocasta hanging herself in the bedroom.
Oedipus is in deep state feeling about knowing all the truth behind his true identity and his actions he did with his mother Jocasta and Oedipus poke his own eyes. This is his act of punishment that Oedipus did because he is ashamed of what he has done. 
Oedipus decided to depart himself from the place after he realizes the troubles he brings and the curse he brings upon his children.
I should not let my children experience this curse.
