- Iago and Rodorigo both felt upset because Rodorigo lost his lover, Desdemona, to Othello. And Iago lost his promotion because Othello took it. Both of them woke up Desdemona's father, Brabantio, to deliver news that his daughter is engaged with Othello
- Desdemona speaks up against her father, Iago and Rodorigo for creating accusations between her love towards Othello. She goes against her father by standing up for her true love Othello and denying the use of black magic.
- Iago tells Othello that his wife, Desdemona and Othello's lieutenant, Cassio, are having an affair. Afterwards, Othello becomes wary of both his wife and lieutenant. He thanks Iago and makes him his new lieutenant.
- As Othello is upset, Iago brings proof of Desdemona's and Cassio's adultery act by showing Othello first gift for Desdemona, a handkerchief, from Iago's wife.
- After Iago's and Cassio's conversation about Bianca, Cassio's mistress, Othello was furious thinking they Cassio was talking about his wife, Desdemona.
- Othello goes into a trance because of Iago and he convinces Othello to kill Desdemona, Othello's love for his wife has now disappeared. Iago suggests that Othello kills his wife once she is asleep and then he must strangle her to death
- Othello explains that he knows what's happening between her and Cassio, Desdemona tries to explain stating that none of this is true and that Iago is lying, however Othello isn't convinced and kills Desdemona.
- Othello prepares himself to strangle Desdemona, However before that he kissed her and urges her to pray before he does kill her. By doing this Desdemona wakes up confused and worried
