- This guy is crazy!
- Ran out of food, so now we gotta eat our boots.
- A young man named Thomas is making his way towards Valley Forge, along with the rest of his Continental Army comrades. All of these men, including Thomas, are beat up, starving, and weak. Thomas is praying that Valley Forge will have plenty of supplies for them once they get there.
- Called to Action
- That night Thomas and his crew made it to Valley Forge. To much dismay, Valley Forge was the exact oppostite of what Thomas was hoping for. Everyone there was hanging on by a thread.
- First Day as a Forager
- Valley Forge is doing its toll on Thomas and the rest of the Continental Troops. Everybodys clothes are tattered, food supplies are low, and the housing is poor. Thomas knows this will be hard, but he is willing to die for his country and his freedom.
- Retaliation
- After two long weeks in Valley Forge, Thomas is finally called upon for a different line of work. He is told that he will become a forager. Him and a group of men will go out on treks to go fetch food and supplies for the men back in Valley Forge. They are told they can even take citizens' stuff by force if needed. Thomas was okay with this because he felt like the citizens didn't always show much support or respect to the Continental soldiers who were fighting for their freedom.
- Things already turned sour for Thomas and his crew on their first day as foragers. The men stopped at a nearby home out in the country and asked the homeowner for any supplies. The homeowner was a cranky old woman who threatened to hurt the soldiers if they asked her again. Thomas watched as his comrades didn't ask again, and instead pushed there way throught and started taking supplies.
- Thomas was completely surprised when he saw that the old lady kept her word. After the other soldiers stromed inside, the old woman went to a back room and came out with a rifle. Without warning, she fired a single shot instantly killing one of the men. The soldiers starting panickcing in shock and they all fled the house as the crazy lady ran after them. Thomas knew this would be a story to tell for generations to come.
