  • The characters in the story are in and of themselves works of pure ludicrous imagination. They embody the necessary characteristics of romantic heroes and heroines what with their tendency to fall into frenzies, melancholy, and ideas of self-destruction. Catherine has a fierce temper that turns wildly at the slightest aggravation and would often prone to falling ill and capable of driving herself insane. Heathcliff, her other half, constantly seeks Catherine, even after her death, frantically and even shows a desperate desire to join her in the end.
