- Nick, this is George Wisonand his wife, Myrtle.
- Nice to meet you, Nick.
- Hello Tom.
- 'm Catherine, Myrtlle's sister. Is it true Gatsby is the nephew or cousin of Kraiser Wihelm
- One day while riding the commuter train into city, Tom makes Nick get off with hom at a stop in the desolate town that is between the East and West Egg,
- Tom introduces Nick to George Wilson, a mechanic, and his wife Myrtle, who Tom has an afair with.

- On their way into the city, Tom and Myrtle explain how they met on the train. Nick is very uncomfartable with all this.
- Ther is a party at Toms's and Myrtle's apartement in New York, and Nick meets Catherine, and the McKee's. Everyon starts drinking excessively and Nick gets drunk for the secon time in his life.
- A the nigt goes, Tom and Myrtle get in a fight. Myrtle keeps shouting Daisy's name tauntingly and Tom breaks her nose. The party finishs.
- The behavior of everyone at the party repulses, and fascinates Nick. He is finally able to leave the party and ends ups taking the 4 a.m. train to Long Island.
