- This takes place at Virgil County High School in Indiana, and it begins by discussing the circumstances leading up to the shooting. As an example, consider how the narrator's companion left the restroom when the girls were doing cosmetics on each other in the school cafeteria.

- All she could say was "run" as her buddy fled back into the cafeteria as the lockdown alarm went off and a gunshot was heard. They flee into the restrooms and hide there.

- The best friend of the girl is shot in the arm, which creates the climax. After being asked a question, her other buddy was shot by the shooter for failing to answer.

- When the police arrived to assist the injured female, the girl who had been shot had already passed away. This book primarily concerns the girl who was shot and demonstrates how the accounts about her that have been circulated are untrue.

- The storyteller tells the girl's fate while highlighting the veracity of certain tales. Then she talks about how the shooting still has an impact on her life.
