The Water Cycle
Storyboard Text
- Precipitation forms in the clouds when water vapor condenses into big droplets of water. When the drops are heavy enough, they fall to the earth. If a cloud is colder, like it would be at higher altitudes, the water droplets may freeze to form ice. These ice crystals then fall to the earth as snow, hail, or rain, depending on the temperature within the cloud and at Earth’s surface.

- Then Rai became rain. And Hai became Hail.
- When solid ice gains thermal energy, it changes state from solid ice to liquid water in a process called melting. Each spring you see snow melt into slush and puddles.
- Hail fell on winter and froze the lake.
- Liquid water can also lose thermal energy and undergo freezing: changing state from a liquid to a solid. Puddles, ponds, lakes, and even parts of oceans freeze when the water becomes cold enough.
- Then, spring came the the ice started to melt. Hai become a puddle and infiltrated the soil and become groundwater.
- Meanwile, Rai who fell on a mountain run off to a lake, then to river, then to the ocean, where he continued to wait for his sister.
- After that the 2 sibling met up again in the ocean. And the water cycle still continues.
