- Ethos
- All of my life I have sought to understand the universe to these big questions. I have been very lucky that my disability has not been a serious handicap. Indeed, it has probably given me more time than most people to pursue the quest for knowledge
- Pathos
- Our genetic code still carries the selfish and aggressive instincts that were of survival advantage in the past. It will be difficult to avoid disaster in the next hundred years, let alone the next thousand or million.
- Logos
- Where did we come? How did the universe come into being? What is the future of the human race? Is there alien life out there?
- The technique used for this would have to be imagery, this is because he uses himself as an example by saying "I have been very lucky that my disability has not been a serious handicap", hes trying to make them imagine if they had his handicap do you think you can do what he couldve, Hes proving you can do it to. This would be Ethos because hes talking about his reputation and what he desired since he was younger, the questions that nobody knows.
- The technique used in this would have to be loaded language, this is because he used the words like disaster, aggressive and selfish to make them realize that we should start researching and advancing because we dont know what can come in the future, he also does this to remind us of our past to say that we have not changed and now is the time.But this is Pathos because of the emotions that hes saying about everyone, saying everyones selfish and aggressive etc.
- The technique used in this slide would have to be Rhetorical questions. This is because he was asking multiple question with no answer or questions at all, hes asking these questions because we as humans dont know how to answer these questions yet. This is logos because the questions are logic, logic that nobody understands yet.
