The sports day event

- Hi there. My name is Khadeeja. I am going to tell youhow I made it up to the top finally after trying hard for 7 years in running.
- I have ran all my life. I tried hard in being first in everything. I haven't gaven up and never will. I became first in other things like studies and art but never in sports. Since year 2, I have tryed out for running in sports day but even if I got selected I did not feel worth it. Even if I won third or second people did not acknowledge. But I did nit give up.
- So I worked hard. But it mainly started after I switched schools. Why? Because here not everyone got a chance to run in the race. You got to be fast. I always have cycled. But this time I cycled everyday. Everyday for around 3 years before and after I switched schools. And it worked. I got selected in 7th grade sports day as fastest in class. Finally it was Sports day. I was selected to run a relay race of 400 meters. I went second. In my turn I was facing 2 ninth graders and an 8th grader but I didn't care. I focused on running.
- I was so ready. And so when I was handed the baton I ran. At first I was slow to pick up my speed. But I tried harder and then I heard myself on the speaker saying I was in the lead. And I did it. I beat the rest and passed the baton to my team mates. Sure in the end my team got 2nd. But I still felt proud. I mean would'nt you be if you beat a 9th grader. Don't give up and try hard!!!!!
