What other compounds are you friends with and why?
!!Q&A VIDEO!!
What does your Lewis dot look like?
What is your IMF of attraction?
What other compounds are you friends with and why?
What does your Lewis dot look like?
Hi, welcome back to another video and in today's video, we are going to do a q and a because I am a constantly used compound especially In peoples homes to disinfectant their kitchens or treat cuts and abrasions and am known to be a cleansing agent for eliminating toxins in the body’s system so I wanted to give my users a way to know more about me. So let's get started with the questions.
Wait before we start I wanted to tell you some things about me just in case you don't know who I am. Hi, my name is Dihydrogen Dioxide that’s my full name but nobody calls me that (besides the chemists) you can call me Hydrogen peroxide or H2O2. I was first discovered in 1818 by a guy named Louis Jacques Thénard (he’s a great guy). I am a liquid at STP and have a density of 1.45 g/cm³. Ok so now let's actually get started with the q&a.
What are your Intermolecular Forces of Attraction?
What are some things you are able to do?
My best friends are H2O and HF, HCl and HBr we have been friends for a while because we all are Covalent and we all have polar bonds. Which means we always get along because we are all very similar but are still different in our own ways.
Why are you afraid of the ocean?
I didn't know much people wanted to see my Lewis dot diagram but here it is. Fun fact because my Lewis dot diagram is asymmetrical it makes me a polar molecule.
Ok so not to brag but my IMF is Hydrogen Bonding which means i have the strongest IMF. Also just to tell you guys some properties of Hydrogen Bonding is a High melting or boiling point, and just very STRONG.
Times when i am able to help people or things are when humans create me to help fight bacteria and infections in there body and by helping plants grow faster and stronger because i can be found in rain water naturally.
Great question, I am highly afraid to go into the ocean at the beach or the pool because I am very soluble in water and a liquid at STP which means I could be fully mixed into the water which is very dangerous for me so I tend to just stay away from water in general.
What are some of your physical properties?
Ok i dont know if this is a boring question but some of my physical properties are that i have a Boiling Point of 302.4°F and a Melting Point of 31.23°F making me a liquid at STP.
what is your molecular shape?
This is also a very specific question but my molecular shape is bent. which is actually a little bit complicated but i do have two bends in my molecular shape.
Thank you guys some much for watching this video and I hope you learned a little bit more about your favorite compound that can be useful to know in the future. Have a great day! and don't forget to like this video. Bye!!
