From the beginning of time, when humans had just started to developed collective learning, construction, was necessary to provide security and shelter. The first form of decor for there homes was the famous cave paintings, made from black and red pigment.
THE RENAISSANCE
OUCH! my back hurts after 16 year of forming that stupid house!
around 1000 b.c.e when the ancient greeks had been in the golden ages, ¨Callimachus¨ a greek sculptor has invented a ¨column¨ used to support beams or arches on which the upper parts of walls or ceilings rest. The column had also been used to decorate temples and palaces. In which the rich used to show off there prosperity and power to others.
TODAY
Ancient romans where inspired from many different things but what most stuck out for them was the ancient greeks. They built upon there idea of the columns and had introduced a new type called the Tuscan column. after seeing greek architecture the romans were able to develop more ideas about engineering and architecture
FUTURE
During the renaissance, arches and domes where still used but many new advances had been made. one example of an improvement to architecture at the time would be the ´florence cathedral¨
the cathedral was made mostly out of brick and marble. That way it would last longer then just using stone and wood.
Now today, almost 470 years later we have machines to help carry the building supplies, and cars to take us anywhere we want! Even today if nobody had shared there knowledge of architecture and mechanics, we would have still been living in caves and have to live in flimsy wooden shacks!
