Judas was leading a group of people to Jesus as he was speaking and drew near to kiss him. Judas, are you giving the Son of Man to his enemies with a kiss? Jesus asked him. When the crowds gathered around Jesus noticed what was occuring, one of them hit the high priest's servant, severing his right ear, and cried, "Lord, shall we strike them with our swords?" Jesus warned them to stop speaking when "Stop! Not again, please." He then treated the servant's ear by touching it.
Elders from the community gathered and brought Jesus before their highest court. Tell us whether you are the Christ, they demanded. "If I tell you, you won't believe me," Jesus warned them. Then are you the Son of God? they all questioned. You claim that I am, Jesus remarked to them. "Why do we need witnesses right now?" they asked. He said this out loud, in our ears.
Are you the Jewish King, Pilate questioned Jesus? These are your words, Jesus retorted. "I find nothing against this man," Pilate declared. Jesus was sent to Herod by Pilate because he was a Galilean. Jesus was questioned by Herod but remained silent, so he took him back and the priests ordered his execution.
Jesus was delivered for execution on the cross. Jesus was followed by a sizable audience, including some grieving women who mourned for him. Do not weep for me; weep for yourselves and your kids, Jesus admonished them.
Along with Jesus, two criminals were carried out and executed. The soldiers crucified Jesus and the criminals, one on each side of him, when they arrived at the location known as The Skull. Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing, Jesus prayed.
Around midday, the entire country went completely dark until three o'clock. The Temple's curtain was shattered in two. Father, I give you my life, Jesus exclaimed in a loud voice. Jesus passed away after saying this. The plots and efforts against Jesus were rejected by a good and holy man named Joseph who was a member of the council. The body was removed from the cross, covered in cloth, and laid in a tomb he had made out of a rock wall.
