Jonas's father was releasing a newborn that morning and Jonas really wanted to watch. The GIver told him that all releases were recorded, and all you had to do was ask.
He killed him! I can't go home now! I can't even look at him!
You can stay here tonight. Maybe we can figure out a way to change things.
The Giver walked over to the speaker and flipped the lever to on. He then asked to see the morning's release.
You can leave early in the morning!

Jonas watched on the monitor as his father slowly injected the baby with a lethal fluid in the scalp.
I can't come. I have to help the community once the memories get released. Then after, I'm going to see my daughter, Rosemary.
Jonas started crying after he saw what his father did. Jonas was so upset he didn't want to go home, so the Giver let him stay with him.
The Giver and Jonas sat down and started coming up with a plan to change their community.
