- From seventh grade and on, I fell in love with Microscopes and what they show and realized this is what I want to do with my life.
- Wow, a Paramecium swimming, this is so cool!
- Many people felt that me, a girl, being a Scientist didn't go together and thought it was only a mans job. So when I was striving to become one, people thought I was incapable of doing a good job.
- Jo, even if you are a girl, you can follow your dreams and be the best scientist you can be and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
- Mr. Post Leone helped convince me that I can still be a scientist and do good in this world, I don't know what I would've done without him.
- There are many girl scientists that have done so much and they inspire me everyday to do the same. Maybe being a female scientist isn't just a dream, but a possible reality!
- In Graduate School, I realized that I can change the world and be the scientist I want to be no matter my gender.

- Congratulations Ms. Handelsman, you are now qualified to be appointed as the Presidential Science Advisor.
- Now, I am currently the Director of the Wisconsin Institute For Discovery and very happy with what I do. Hopefully I can inspire many young people to go for what they want and not what others want!
