- Jacksonian Democracy helped expand voting rights to all white men, not just landowners. Before Jackson's presidency, only property-owning men were allowed to vote in many states. Under Jackson, more states eliminated property requirements, allowing all white men to vote. This greatly increased the number of eligible voters.

He felt that the wealthy elites in government and business had too much influence and that they were taking advantage of the common people.
