Storyboard Text

  • 13.8 billion years ago everything in the universe started out as a single point, in an instant it expanded outwards in all directions.
  • It was an unaminaginaly hot, and dense point. Millions of years after that energy, and atoms began to form. Billions of years later the first stars started forming. Galaxies would start forming a couple billion years later.
  • Some reasons we know that Big Bang Theroy is likely true is that cosmic microwave backround radiation exists. This is because all the universe grew, the heat left a "glow" which fills the entire universe. Scientists have found this light using oribting detctors. It is good evidence that the big bang theory is correct.
  • Some chemical elements were created shortly after the big bang. We can see evidence of this in old universes when we observe them. The amount of chemicals we see agrees with the Big Bang theory. We can't look for new evidence in new stars like the Sun, because the sun uses chemicals from older stars that went supernova before it was created.
  • Basded off of this we can say that big bang theory is almost certainly true. The universe is expanding and everything is being pushed apart by dark energy. The universe is always getting farther apart.
  • Another piece of evidence for Big bang theory is the redshift from galaxies. The light we observe from galaxies has been strecthed by the time it reaches us. It looks redder as a result. This si the result of the galaxies moving away from us. Observations show that pretty much everything in the universe is moving apart. This tells us that the universe is expanding. If you turned back time you could observe universes closer together.
