- Archduke Franz Ferdinand was assassination for a few reasons but the most important ones are threatening Serbia's independence and forcing Serbian people to work for Austria Hungary . Most of the Serbian people thought that killing the archduke would free Serbia from Austria Hungary rule so a terrorist group known as the black hand made a plot to kill the archduke on his way to Sarajevo to make plans for his crowning.

- Austria Hungary declares war on Serbia for killing the archduke and his wife which leads to Russia and Germany joining the war along with France, Great Britain and later the United States Because of this the war became known as a world war. Nearing the end of the war the central powers were forced to make peace agreements with the allied powers and an armistice where the fighting would stop on november 11 1918. The peace treaty told Germany that they had to pay for the war damages ,deaths and Serbia got its independence from Austria hungary. After the war the league of nations was made to make sure no world war happen again.
