I'm doing really good in life with my daughter in our new house.
During a diner at Pike's home, Karim learned how and why the ex of Eleanor suicided. At this moment he is disapointed of learnig it because the wife of Pike, but he also accepted the fact that he was not entitled to know everything. This scene humbled him and showed us a more empathic and less egoistic point of view of Karim. It shows that the way Karim thought process was flawed in some way but that he is getting better.

After going to New York and living in London, Karim came back to the Suburb to see his mother and little brother. He is happy to see that his family is getting better. He has accepted the fact that his parents are doing better separated. He is no longer ashamed of where he grew up. Thanks to his gain in maturity he understands the world better.
It's so good to see you !
This scene shows a real contrast between the person Karim was at the beginning of the novel and near the end. He has now matured and it shows. Actually the fact that he see for himself the changes in Jamila's and Changez's life and doesn't say something awful is good sign. At this point in the book he seems more open to discussion.
Yeah I noticed !
This is the end of the book, Karim is gathered with his family and having a great time with them. He is surronded by the people he learned to love. Karim has matured and gained enough wisdom to help the people around him and give advices. He learned from his mistakes. He may not be as happy as he wishes he was, but he improved a lot, during the time he narrated his life to us.
