- Callisto is the story of a very unlucky girl. Her father, the king of Arcadia had hosted the almighty Zeus. The feast consisted of human flesh which angered Zeus. He suffered the rest of his life as a wolf for that was his punishment.
- One day when Zeus happened to be checking on the king he had turned to a wolf, he spotted the Kings daughter-Callisto. He quickly fell in love which greatly upset Hera. Although this act was not Callisto's fault, Hera seeked revenge.
- Thank you Zeus!
- She waited for Callisto's baby to be born and then turned her into a bear similar to her father. Hera was not yet done with her revenge.
- You do not deserve to be honored in such a way.
- As Callisto's son grew up, Hera's second part of the plan fell into place... or so she thought. She had set it up so that the son would ignorantly hunt his own mother.
- Zeus had to quickly think of a way to save one of his many loves so he set her in the sky among the stars where she got her name The Great Bear.
- Later, her son Arcas was placed beside her also in the stars. The honor they received clearly upset Hera and she convince the God of the Sea to not allow them to descend into the ocean with every other star.
