  • Many religions have different traditions, like attending church or temple, celebrating religious holidays, or wearing specific clothes. Such as my Hajab.
  • Religion teaches you a set of practices to live by, such as being kind to others, telling the truth, or praying.
  • Islam is a religion where Me and fellow Muslims believe in one God whose name is Allah.
  • Is Allah a Person?
  • So it is almost like how my teacher always prays to God. Are they the same?
  • No, Allah is eternal which means he was never born and will never die. He knows everything everyone does. This is why Muslims Worship him.
  • Like what?
  • They are almost the same but us Muslims believe in different things.
  • Car beeps off in distance
  • What does the Qur'an do?
  • Well there are a lot of different things but the main points are in your teachers religion they have a bible in my religion are holy book is a Qur’an.

  • In 610 AD an angel named Gabreil came to Muhammad and ordered him to recite the words of Allah before it was written. He went around where he lived and taught people how there is no God but Allah and that Muslims should devote their lives to God.
  • Another thing about Islam is the prophet Muhammad.
  • So you have to get up early then? Right?
  • These are different prayers that you have to do at different times of the day. S every day I have to do this Fajr- Prayed at sunrise, Dhuhr - Prayer midday, Asr - Prayed in the afternoon, Maghrib - Prayed at sunset, Isha - Prayed at night.
  • Well, let me think. There are rituals we have to follow called the 5 pillars of Islam.
  • I could never do that staying up late to pray and then waking up it must be hard.
  • It is but you get used to it after some time.
  • Yes, then I go back to bed or I just stay up and start my day.
  • Why do you wear it?
  • Another part of Islam is why I wear a hijab on my head.
  • So not everyone has to wear it, it is up to yourself?
  • The Qur’an tells us to be modest and I believe that covering my hair is modest. But not all Muslims believe it is true and it is up to them to wear it or not.
  • Yes!! You learn fast.
  • Some holidays that We celebrate are Ramadan fasting and we have our own new year called Hirji year. With fasting it celebrates a time for self-control, gratitude and compassion for the less fortunate. We don't eat between dawn and dusk, for a whole month. For the Islamic new year it marks the time that Prophet Muhammad and his followers left Mecca to Medina. We celebrate it by prayer, family time.
