- There was a carnival taking place in Italy where the Montresor and Fortunato were both at. The Montresor runs into Fortunato and offers to share a bottle of Amontillado wine with him. The problem was this bottle of wine was in his catacombs and it was late at night. To add to the problem Fortunato seemed to have fallen ill.
- Falling Action
- Fortunato and Montresor walked down into the vaults to find the Amontillado wine. When walking down to the vaults Montresor and Fortunato were just talking and having a conversation. Fortunato started coughing really bad and Montresor offered to take him back to the doctor but Fortunato refused. Fortunato took so Medoc and continued on his way.
- Resolution
- Montresor ends up thinking of the perfect plan to get revenge on Fortunato. Montresor chains up Fortunato and starts building a wall to hide him. Fortunato was intoxicated enough to think this was all a joke. Fortunato did not understand what Montresor was doing.
- Fortunato finally realizes what Montresor is doing. While Montresor is building the wall to keep Fortunato in he hears that Fortunato has gone quiet. Montresor starts calling Fortunato's name but he isn't replying. Montresor ends up throwing his torch through the empty space in the wall to get some noise out of Fortunato.
- Montresor forces in the last brick and plasters up the wall. Montresor has now finished his deed of revenge on Fortunato. On the walk back up from the catacombs Montresor feels sorta bad for what he did. Montresor knows he got his revenge in the end and left Fortunato down behind the wall.
