- My name is William Clark. I am the co captain of the corps of discovery.
- Meriwether lewis chose me for the expedition wast to explore the louisiana territory. we all faced many hardships along the way
- My name is Sacagawea and I was the interpreter and guide for lewis and Clark.
- I helped feed most of the corps of discovery with my knowledge of the plants in the area. I also helped compuiculate with other natives. I also faced many hardships too.
- My name is Andrew jackson. I was the 7th president of the U.S.
- I passed the Indian Removal Act of 1830, appropriating 500,000 to locate tribes west of the Mississippi River.
- This caused many hardships and conflicts.
- On the expedition we had a lot of bad weather. The weather in the west was a lot different than in the east. We had very limited sleep and food sources and there were a lot of illnesses. And there was a lot of tension between us and the natives.
- I had to face the same hardships as the rest of the expedition plus carrying my infant son. I was the only woman among 31 other men and I had to interpret for Lewis and clark and had to talk to tribes that did welcome the expedition.
- Some tribes were not happy that I was helping Lewis and Clark. By helping them I was in some ways hurting my own people. I was also not paid but my husband was.
- On May 28th 1830 I signed the Indian removal Act. I moved them to please they would never want to go in the first place. I also promised land much bigger than what they actually got.
- This caused many conflicts and why manifest destiny was a tragedy.
