Storyboard Text
- Rontu
- These are our characters, Karana and Rontu. (spoiler) later on in the book Rontu dies and gets replaced for his son, Rontu-Aru.
- Karana
- Karana was forced to board a ship to leave the island but she jumps out due to her brother not getting on board so he can get his spear. Karana jumped out and swam back to the Island of the Blue Dolphins. Little did she know this would change her life.
- Karana's brother died and she had to stay there by herself and she waited many years for the ship to come till one day she gave up hope. She had to make shelter somewhere else so she wouldn't get hunted by dogs. She made a shelter elsewhere and survived many days. she ended up making an animal friend named Rontu. But without human connection she fell in state of depression. Because of her being so sad she tried to get to the island where the rest of her people live. She planned for many days and nights and finally set off. She brought food, water, and an oar (duh). The rough tide stopped her, and her canoe had many leaks. She came home and made better spears, better bows and arrows, as well as fixing her canoe. She also made new shelter with gates and a little hut within the gates.
