- The soldiers executed kovalan and after that as Kannagi was doing her chores a woman came and told that kovalan got executed they were convinced that the anklet was queen’s and Kannagi reached there and lapsed her husbands body lamenting his death
- I shall take retribution for the injustice meted on my husband
- She called out to women in the city ,that your king has murdered my husband without a trial and hearing her wail many people joined her and the crowd kept getting bigger. As they reached the castle a soldier told to the king a women filled with resentment and rage awaits an audience she waits at the entrance with a anklet , the king bewildered allowed her in
- Kannagi said: I hold the other anklet, did you know it contained gems within?, so by breaking she proved it the king then cried out it is I who is the thief let me depart this life and he feel down swoon, seeing her husband dead she also gave her life however kaana hi cursed the city Madurai,a great fire will consume everything except for the righteous people the city burnt but before all was lost Meenakshi god of Madurai told her your husbands death has been avenged now remember that the king and queen gave up their life and so the city of destruction ended
