Why can I only take a certain amount of my medicine, if I take more won't I get better faster?
Well, there are certain amounts of medicine that can help get you better but if you use too much you might overpower your system and make it harder to use the medicine again.
This is called overdose and to understand antibiotics and their resistance we need to learn their history.
Originally it was thought that antibiotics were first discovered were in 1928 but it was recently found that around 550 BC tetracycline was found in the bones of skeletons in ancient Eygpt. This was the sign that the first antibiotics were much earlier than we thought.
Now what was originally thought of the discovery of antibiotics was in 1926 by a Scottish biologist by the name Alexander Fleming. His discovery was apparently an accident when he left the petri dish of bacteria by the open window this left mold to inhibited the bacteria this type of fungi would later be known as penicillin which we have right here. This was the start to the modern era of antibiotics
Here we have our medicine cabinet in there we have tons of antibiotics.
