The Demographic Transition Model of the United States
I've lost three siblings from birth complications and my brother John and sister Sam are diseased
There is so much work to do on our farm we need all the help we can get but two of our kids are sick and I don't know how to help them get better
The industrial revolution created many job and educational opportunities so we moved to the city
Sam and John got better because dad can afford medicine and has access to it. Mum hasn't had much trouble with keeping the babies healthy since we learned more about hygiene
Me and my sister are pursuing an education and finding equal footing in our society
I've entered the workforce and my mom friends and I are having less children because we have found that it is less economically advantageous
19th century America stage one of the demographic transition model
Work is going well, I am providing for my family and helping sick people I feel I am doing important work and I don't feel the need to expand my family, it would also be impractical economically
I'm in my last year of high school and the scope of opportunities my brother and I have for a career is starting to soak in but before that I'm going to pursue a higher level of education like university
