- 1. Theseus is the son of a king even though he is poor.
- I must work out to become strong so I can be king someday.
- Your father is a king! One day, when you are grown, you will go and fight his enemies.

- 2. A seagull reveals Theseus's father and destiny as well as gives him advice in two separate dreams.
- Use your enemies' strength against them. Your father is Poseidon. You will receive an unexpected gift tomorrow.
- 3. With supernatural strength, Theseus removes a sword from a stone and then leaves for Athens.
- Let me try to pull the sword out of the stone!
- Be careful, Sweetheart! I love you!
- Goodbye, Mother! I'm going to Athens to see Aegeus.
- 4. Theseus meets and defeats Corynetes, Sciron, Pityocamptes, and Procrustes on the way to Athens.
- I love a challenge! Off to Athens!
- 5. Theseus meets his "father" Aegeus and decides to sail to Crete to fight the Minotaur.
- Let me go to Crete as one of the seven young men to fight the Minotaur. I know I can do it!
- We can't fight Pallas and his sons yet. It is too dangerous!
- 6. Theseus says goodbye to Aegeus as he departs Athens for Crete and trains the other young men and women to fight the Minotaur along the way.
- Do not despair! I will teach you how to fight the Minotaur!
- Don't worry! I will raise a white flag when I return.
- May the gods protect you!
- 7. Theseus meets Minos and proves that he is the son of Poseidon.
- I just proved to you that I am the son of Zeus! Now, you must prove that you are the son of Poseidon. Fetch my crown from the sea.
- I retrieved your crown from the bottom of the sea. I am indeed the son of Poseidon!
- 8. Ariadne, the daughter of Minos, offers to help Theseus if he will promise to take her back to Athens.
- Thank you for the offer but I must fight the Minotaur and defeat it.
- With my ball of yellow silk yarn, I can help you escape from the Labyrinth but you must promise to take me back to Athens with you.
- 9. To Ariadne's delight, Theseus fights the Minotaur and defeats it.
- Wow! He's dead! Put your yarn away! We're off to Athens!
- You killed the Minotaur! I am so happy! Now, take me to Athens with you!
- 10. Aegeus throws himself off a cliff in despair before Theseus triumphantly returns to Athens, slays Pallas and his sons, and becomes King of Athens.
- I tagged along with my sister to keep her company.
- I love you Theseus, my handsome king!
- Poor Aegeus is dead because I forgot to raise the white sails. I am now the king after I killed his Aegeus's evil cousin Pallas.
- I have sent Theseus to his death. I am going to jump off this cliff.
