- How did it do that?
- What's this?
- The act established the Federal Deposit Insurance Company which restored faith in the banks and took steps to prevent future Depresions by providing federal insurance for individual bank accounts
- The New Deal also established a Social Security Act and a Federal Securities Act that helps prevent the economy from crashing again
- It's a bank! Thanks to the Glass Steagal Act, banks were able to reorganize and recover.
- All this talking is making me thirsty
- Yes we've even begun appointing women and African Americans to important government positions
- Even Native Americans benifited from the New Deal. They recived full citizenship and the Indian Reorganization Act helped patch up some of the damage caused by assimilation
- Yes and along with that, NYA hired African American administrators and suported minority students
- What's so amazing about the New Deal is that it also established help lines to minoraties as well
- Even women and African Americans experienced lots of discrimination, so while the New Deal did help to some extent, it could have done more had people been less racist and sexist.
- But the New Deal was less helpful for Mexican Americans, many of whom were deported and the ones who were left were discriminated against by New Deal agencies.
