- Living in Mexico, the Mayan life consists of many different layers and activities.
- Things like kings and queens, for example Palenque, who became a king at the age of twelve.
- They lived in houses with thatched roofs and either a large stone or packed dirt covered the floor from floods, this was also were underneath they would bury their dead.
- The Mayan's were also#160; very well organized, like with the El Castillo, where on all four sides there was 91 steps, and one at the top, leading to 365 steps, a entire year organized into a building.
- They also were very good farmers, and after growing in farming abilities, they also grew in population, sometimes leading into cities and city-states.
- They would cut down trees and brush in the way of farming, burning the excess and planting the ashes in the ground for nutrients.
- The Mayan's believed that our imperfect, like wide noses or crossed eyes, were a sign a beauty, and many parents tried to cross their children's eyes at a young age.
- The people definitely believed in beauty, wearing jade in their teeth, long hair, and depending on your rank, you might wear colorful cotton or jaguar or other animals fur.
- The Mayans believed that there are gods of different natural accuances, things like nature, crops, animals, were all worshiped.
- Not only did they believe in gods, but also they believed that after death, their souls would travel through routs in caves, and travel to the underworld, where ancestors were believed to be.
- Not only did they create hieroglyphs, they also create statues, murals, potteries, and carvings out of obsidian.
- They also drew in hieroglyphs, pictures of which represent wording of sometime, which most of Mayan royalty could read and write.
