Engle said in her poem Strays, that her cat was her only human friend and that no one knew her. She said, the girl next door calls me Spanish and treats me like curiosity. What Engle did not know is that God is her friend and he loves her no matter what. God does not care about nationality or race, he cares about our hearts.
Ruth 1:15
In this poem, Engle talks about the beginning of junior high versus the end of the first month. She said, Girls ignore me, or tell me to cut my old-country braids. God does not care about our appearances as other people do. People always want to keep up with the trends and disrespect the people that do not. God does not care about trends or the clothes that we wear, he cares about what we do with our life and how we choose to follow him.
Ruth 2:10-12
In Ruth 1:15 Naomi said, Look, your sister-in-law has gone back to her people and to her gods; return after your sister-in-law. Ruth replied and said that Your people shall be my people, and your God, my God. This is the attitude that God wants us to have. He wants us to be willing to follow him no matter what. Ruth did not want to go back to her people, she wanted to stay with Naomi and God. God loved Ruth even though she was not Jewish.
In Ruth 2:10-12, Ruth asks Boaz why he found favor in her, and he told her that he heard about what she did for her mother-in-law. He said that she has come under the refuge of God and that He will repay her work. This shows that God did not care about where she came from, she His child and He knew that she had a good heart.
