Frogcicles: Frozen But Still Alive

Hello fellow creatures! I am a wood frog and I have a cool trick I have perform every year to keep me alive! It's called antifreeze! I can survive at temperatures as low as 3 degrees Fahrenheit than come back to life!
It's getting a bit chilly time to start hibernating with my urine!

As the first crystal creep over my skin, a cool transformation starts to happen. The water in my blood starts to freeze. The ice sucks the precious water out of my cells! But to prevent full scale dehydration, my liver begins to make a large amount of glucose. As my sugar mixes with my urine in the blood creating homemade antifreeze. If I loose more than 60% of my water, this process turns irreversible!! My cells would have clumped up and died, but the antifreeze keeps me alive!
Once that happens I go in a state of suspended animation. My lungs stop working, my heart stops beating. With this I can survive 2 to 3 months with my body completely frozen. That's why we are sometimes called frogcicles.

Once spring arrives, I start to thaw. Water slowly flowing back into my cells; my cells re-hydrate and go back to regular shape. Just within 30 minutes my heart starts beating again and blood starts to flow!
Since it's been 2 days I have to go find a mate! But first I REALLYYY need to pee. Bye guys, see you next time!
