The family finishes its day by assisting at a popular form of entertainment during the Victorian era: the magic lantern show. It consists of one or more lenses (generally made of glass) that depicted a story. Complex as it may seem, the process of this particular camera obscura is actually based on inserting each slide upside-down, as the light that struck each plate would project the image inverted.
