- In 1600 the British East India Company set up to trade with India. They started to get involved in the Indian government and by 1850, they controlled half of the land. In 1858, the British Parliament took over control of India and India became a colony of Great Britain.
- The Sepoy Mutiny was when Indian soldiers revolted against British officers who were forcing them to use a cartridge greased in cow and pig fat. The Hindu soldiers protested the addition of Gurkha Sikh and lower caste soldiers to their ranks and the use of animal grease on the cartridges. By loading the.
