  • Why Total Wellness Is so Important For Your Health
  • Total wellness is truly important for your overall health. Total wellness means to take care of your entire body. This means that you have to take care of your emotional health, your exercise, hygiene , and nutrition. There are three main aspects to your total wellness. The first part is social wellness. The next part is physical wellness. Last but not least is mental/emotional wellness. It is really important to try to keep these wellnesses strong.
  • All You Need To Know About Social Wellness
  • To begin with, social health is all about how well you interact with others. It is also about how well you take care of yourself. You should really make sure that this wellness is pretty strong. To explain, in Module 1 Lesson 3, it states, "Good social wellness involves being able to interact with others in face-to-face situations." To further explain if your social wellness is really strong you will have no problem with talking to other people, whether with a friends or if you are checking out at a store. On the other hand, you might be used to texting on the phone and then you start to lose that social strop point. If this happens don't worry there are many ways to increase your social wellness. Start talking face-to-face with your friends again or get out of you comfort zone and do some workouts with strangers. Try to get to know one another better.
  • All You Need To Know About Mental/Emotional Wellness
  • Next, lets talk about mental/emotional wellness. Mental wellness means that you are happy with your surroundings or who you are surrounding yourself with. Emotional wellness is about how you react or handle certain events in your life. This wellness is all about how you feel, react, or handle stressful situations. There are three stages to stress, the alarm stage, resistance stage, and the exhaustion stage. The alarm stage is where you choose to stay in the uncomfortable situation or leave it. This is also know as the "fight or flight" reaction. The next stage is the resistance stage. If you stay in the stressful situation, your body might become weak and tired. This happens to you because your body is using a ton of energy. The final stage is the exhaustion stage. This happens to you when you have been stressed for weeks, months, or years on end. Your body at this point can't deal with all of the stress anymore. In Module 1 Lesson 4, it states, "An event, such as a death of a family member, can force the body into the exhaustion stage." This is a perfect example of a stressful event. Clearly you would go into the exhaustion stage because you have just been presented with the news that a family member has passed away. Don't be afraid though, there are plenty of way to help with stress. This one is simple, but you can count down/up to ten and leave the situation to find a better response to it. Also, sleep if a good way to help with stress.
  • Last but not least, is physical wellness. It is extremely important to keep your physical health and wellness strong. Physical wellness is all about how you take care of your body. In Module 1 Lesson 1, it states, "Physical wellness is how you take care of your body, including exercise, nutrition, and hygiene." To further explain, you also have to balance all of these together to have a strong physical wellness. It is super necessary to eat a healthy meal everyday to maintain your physical wellness. It is also vital to keep up with your exercises too.
  • All You Need To Know About Physical Wellness
  • In the end, every part of total wellness is extremely essential for your health. It is super beneficial to keep your social, mental, and physical wellnesses balanced and strong. It might seem hard to keep them all strong in the first place, but just eep trying and keep learning along the way. By keeping them balanced it will truly help you with going through life. That's why total wellness is critical for your health.
