Storyboard Text

  • A past event in Jon's life where he first felt the most guilt towards his actions at the time
  • Batman and Nightwing locate where Superman's son was. While Batman comforts Superman, Nightwing comforts Jon, Superman's son, knowing how it feels to feel burdened to their super parents. Nightwing forms a bond with Jon in this one moment that would be hard to get rid of even when they'd grow up.
  • Present event in which Jon feels guilt towards his choices that he made to protect the people
  • Jon grew up to follow in his dad's footsteps but soon, having to make hard decisions left Jon with the guilt of not being able to help and save everyone.
  • This left Jon stressed out.
  • Jon makes himself fully accountable for the damages that had been made due to the villain at the time.
  • Jon decided to confide in a holographic replica of his father that can only provide him with his prior knowledge. He was told that he made the well-fit decision for the situation but that didn't help Jon because he knew that if it were his dad in that position, he could've saved everyone and not left some in danger.
  • Kal-ex witnesses Jon's ramble in trying to understand how to deal with the harsh decisions he had to make and will have to make.
  • But lives are not numbers, dad.
  • Kal-ex talks to Nightwing
  • Nightwing having been a hero ever since he was 8, knew the struggles of dealing with the burden of making harsh decisions. He also knew the struggle of not having anyone to talk to but that is what drove him to help his brothers and is what will push him to help Jon as well.
  • I should've checked up on him sooner, it was my responsibility to make sure he was okay, Superman asked me to.
  • Dick Grayson meets with The Truth
  • When Nightwing has a meeting with The Truth as Dick Grayson, Jon instantly figures out who was there but didn't expect Nightwing to do the same.
  • Superman, I know you can here me, meet me on the rooftop near Luthor Corp.
  • Nightwing reassures Jon that he is doing the right thing and he should continue doing what he's doing but let people in when he really needs it as a part of being a hero is being able to be human.
  • Being a hero means being able to make the hard choices but it also means taking responsibility for the choices you make. If you think you made a wrong choice, you apologize but you don't apologize for what you could've done, you apologize for what you couldn't have. You have people that support you, Lois, Jay, they'll support you no matter what, let them be there to help even if they don't understand everything you're going through. If you ever need someone else, I am here.
