In the beginning of the book, Frankenstein creates the monster. The monster haunts him in his dreams and scares him. This leads to both the creator and the monster himself running away. Frankenstein abonadons his creation and chooses to ignore is presence.

Someone killed my brother. Was it the monster? What have I created? What do I do now? I feel sick
Dr. Frankenstein heads home for vacation when he recieves a letter about his youngest brothers unexpected death. This leads to him experiance tremendous amount of anxiety which then the monster appears out of the bushes leaving him with many unanswered questions and believing that the monster killed the brother.

The monster admits to killing William, the brother. He later on explains his actions through the stroy, blaming Dr. Frankenstein for his abanodment and creation.
