I'm Timothy and today was a day like the previous ones.
When my parents were alive, they would tell me stories that my grandparents told them about the 2020s. To be honest, I don't know why it took them so long to find a vaccine for covid. But well that's not the important thing, in 2060 there was a health crisis, after the production of face masks and materials that were used in those times, it was discovered that resources were limited and luckily for us a new virus emerged, there are suspicions that it was intentionally released, but the probability that we find that is the same as that of me finding someone else alive
.
With this pandemic, the massive production of medical supplies affected the environment since most factories dumped their waste in rivers or on the ground, regardless. This triggered the pollution of the seas to the point that islands of plastic waste covered the sea. And also islands of already used face masks were floating in the sea. And not to mention air pollution, so many factories were opened and with them the chances that if you don't use a mask today you can die.
And you wonder how it is that I live with so many problems? Well the answer is something easy, when my parents died I looked for a way to survive, and I found this hidden but warm and safe place. In high school I learned how to know if the water was of good quality and luckily for me, the water from this small stream is very safe. Later I managed to get food from abandoned supermarkets and careless warehouses.
.
After a long time, I found this place that is surrounded by water. It is nice and cozy, in high school as part of the new study program they taught us to study the molecules of water and how to know if it was suitable for consumption. And well I did some tests and it's not completely contaminated. I still have a lot to discover about this place, but at least in here I don't have to wear a mask, the air is less polluted
This is my life inside this destroyed world. You know, I would like to know what would have happened if the other generations had really cared about pollution.
but for now we just have to wait... I have one last thing to show you
I like working in this little laboratory that I set up. It's a bit old, but with this I have been able to survive the polluted water, I hope one day I can find someone else
