- During Keyes interrogation he asked that anything he says wont reach the media because he didn't want his daughter to know about the crimes hes committed.  This request was accepted, but only for a short while. Keyes confessed to multiple murders throughout the years. He told Payne and Doll that he had placed "Kill Kits" all around the country. Spanning from Washington to Florida. Whenever the time was right, Keyes would dig up these kill kits.
- Keyes went into full detail about Samantha's death. He told them how he sexually assaulted her before strangling her to death in the shed. He used a machete to chop up her body in 6 different pieces before dumping her in the lake.
- Another murder Keyes confessed too were Bill and Lorraine Currier. Keyes reportedly broke into their home on the night of June 8th, 2011.  Keyes cut the Currier's phone line before entering the home and tying them up and taking them to an abandon farm house before murdering both of them
- After being arrested, Keyes would kill himself by slashing his wrists in his cell. He left behind 11 skull paintings, painted by his own blood, as well as a suicide note. On the note he referred to his victims as his "Pretty, captive butterflies". Officials believe the skulls represent all of his victims, most go unnamed.
