  • We can begin with mine. I established that a flow of electric current through a wire generates a magnetic field. This was the earliest time wherein electricity and magnetism were said to be connected.
  • Oersted : Let’s start with my discovery. I discovered that a magnetic field is produced when electric current flows through a wire. This was the first time that electricity and magnetism were said to be connected.

  • AMPERES: Will you say that yes that is true, orsted! You made it possible that I also would develop Ampere’s law. It says how the magnetic field that exist around a conductor depends on the amount of current passing through it. I even set the ampere as unit measure of electric current.
  • FARADAY: That’s basic, Ampere! That’s Fundamental, Ampere! I went one step further looking my work on the electromagnetic induction. I also found that an electric current is induced on a conductor subjected to time varying magnetic fields. This principle is of great importance to generators and transformers.

  • HERTZ: Very true, Faraday! As a result, experiments were conducted to demonstrate that these beams are also called as electromagnetic waves. For instance, I made and recognized radio waves. I made these waves illustrate that these waves cover space like light reaches speeding it in one point.

  • MAXWELL: And all these concepts are there in my work in combination. I found Maxwell's equations which express the dependence of electric, and magnetic fields and their sources. My equations, at the same time, specify the fact there exists an electromagnetic wave light in essence connecting electricity, magnetism and optics.

  • Orsted: It is true to say that the discoveries made together formed the basis of the development of electromagnetism and which opened a large number of doors enabling many technological innovations
