The Women's Rights Movement started in 1848. Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Lucretia Mott, and Susan B. Anothy were all trying to give women their freedom. It wasn't easy to convince everyone that women should have rights.
The goal that they were trying to achieve was for women to have their rights and be able to vote. They were trying to change that only men should vote. They held a meeting, but were never able to change their minds. But they were still fighting for their rights.

On Nov. 5, 1872 Susan B. Anthony was arrested for illegal voting and was told to pay $100 fin. But she didn't pay a single penny.
Now, women have their rights and are allowed to vote.

On November 2, 1920, more than 8 million women were allowed to vote. They were successful in having every women have their rights and freedom
