  • Losing is not the end of the world, Wilma. What matters is how you deal with it.

  • If losing destroys you, it’s all over. But if you can pick yourself up and try to win the next one, you could be a champion someday. I mean that.

  • Coach Ed Temple has invited you to train with his track team at Tennessee State University.
  • This girl is Wilma Rudolph and she is crying because she lost every game she was in. This man is Coach Gray and he is trying to cheer her up.

  • Why? I lost every race I ran today.
  • Because he can see what I see:You’re a fighter.
  • However, Coach Gray made feel more bad. So, Wilma stares at her feet when she heard about what Coach Gray said. Coach Gray tries again to cheer her up.
