- HI! my name is Sally, and I lost my kitty a couple minutes ago. Will you help me find my kitty in the dark?
- Sally notices she is 6ft away from an 8foot tree, to find the angle, she uses trig. Sally finds out that the angle is tan-1 (8/6) =53.1
- Sadly, Sally did not find her kitty, so she moved on to the next tree.
- I see something! could that be my kitty?
- After walking to the second tree Sally see's something from where she's standing. Sally notices the angle is 57 and the tree is 7ft, so she uses trig again. Sally finds out that the hypotenuse is 7/sin (57) =8.3ft
- But once again Sally did not find her kitty.
- Sally walked up to the last and final tree hoping her kitty would be there. Sally notices the angle is 63 and she was 30ft away from the tree. Sally once again uses trig to find the height of the tree: 30cos (63) =13.6ft
- FINALLY! Sally found her kitty. But there was an Itty bitty problem. The tree was tall, and Sally is short. So, Sally called the ambulance to get her kitty off the tree:)
