- My name is Sam, and I want to introduce you to my friend, Ms. Iceberg She is a solid and she is made out of frozen water.
- SOLID
- hello sam here. I have some sad news and some good news. The sun (through radiation) melted Ms. Iceberg. when the temperature became higher than 0- Celsius, and the ice turned her into liquid when the temperature hit the melting point. Her particles were packed tightly together, and then her particles started to separate as the melting started and he became a liquid.
- MELTING ~ RADIATION
- Now good news! Here is my new friend, Mr. Lake. He is a liquid.
- LIQUID
- Hi, it is sam again! I have some more sad news. The sun caused the temperature to rise (through Radiation) and caused the water to evaporate into the atmosphere. Evaporation is a type of vaporization that occurs at the surface of liquids and is a slower process than boiling. Here, the particles of a liquid slowly change to a gas, or water vapor.
- EVAPORATION ~ RADIATION
- As we add thermal energy, the particles expand, moving away from each other. They gain energy and move faster. This causes a change of phase from a solid to a liquid to a gas.I can't wait to meet my new friends, Mrs. Vapor and Mr. vapor, but I might be waiting around for a while.
