- Hi, my name is Yeh-Shen. My parents died when I was a baby and now I live with my cruel stepmother.
- Since I desperately wanted to go, I asked my fish bones for clothes to go to the festival.
- Yes Mother.
- Yeh-Shen hurry up and do your chores!
- My best friend is a golden fish that I caught and raised. I bring him bread and talk to him.
- Sadly, my stepmother found out that I had been hiding the fish, and she killed him. After my fish's death, a kind uncle visited me and told me that my fish's bones would grant wishes. He also warned me not to waste their gifts.
- One day, a festival arrived. However, my stepmother wouldn't allow me to go.

- My dear friend, please allow me to have clothes for the festival so that I can go.

- At the festival, I lost my shoe running home. After this I was devastated because my fish's bones wouldn't talk to me.

- Finally, I was able to get my shoe back at night. Coincidentally, the King saw me grab my shoe and fell in love with me. Now I live in a palace and can talk with my fish again.
