Important because it alerted everyone of the fallen pilot which led to everything else in the chapter.

Important because it shows the Jack and Ralph are going ahead and leading the boys.
They lay there listening, at first with doubt but then terror to the description the twins breathed at them, (page 99, Golding).
Important because it shows that the boys stopped caring about the beast and wanted to play rather than work. They need someone to lead them.
After they had eaten, Ralph and the biguns set out along the beach, (page 103, Golding).
This is important because it shows that Jack is the one who's made it as the leader and is respected more than Ralph.
The others, waiting in the grass, saw Jack and Ralph unharmed and broke cover into the sunlight, (page 107, Golding)

Jack led the way down the rock and across the bride, (page 108, Golding). (He is leading them to the mountain)
