  • The Westing Game By Ellen Raskin Presentation by Keegan World Core 5/6 Date 12/12 Genre Mystery
  • The Westing Game is a murder mystery that is set in Wisconson in the 1970s. A random group of people were invited to live in a new apartment building called Sunset Towers next to Millionaire Sam Westing's mansion. When Sam Westing is found dead, his last will and wish is for his heirs to play a GAME in order to find the murderer. The tenants of Sunset Towers are named as heirs and players to win his 200 million dollar fortune!
  • There was a gossip about smoke coming from the Westing house because no one had seen Sam in so many years. It had happened to be Halloween that night so Turtle Wexler and Doug Hoo went to snoop around in the Westing house. Turtle discovered, or at least that's what she thought, the body of Sam Westing on the ground who appeared to be murdered. The discovery went live and was on the news, so everyone had heard about it.
  • A gathering of heirs was held in the westing house and a lawyer read the "Westing will" to the 16 people that were living in Sunset Towers.
  • The people that were invited to live in Sunset Towers had no idea who each other were. They had never met Sam Westing and they don't even know who he is. The heirs were also surprised to be playing in a game with a murderer.
  • The heirs were paired up and each given a set of clues. And 10,000 dollors to spend.
  • The rules are simple: 1. 8 pairs 2. Each pair will receive 10,000 dollars 3. Each pair will receive one set of clues 4. Forfeits: If any player drops out then the partner must leave the game and return the money 5. The players are given 2 days to solve the mystery

Questions were asked from what they found out from their clues " Is anyone here a twin?" no answers. "What is turtles real name?" Grace Wexler lies and Flora tells the truth. "How many people have actually meet Sam Westing?" Only Mr. Hoo
  • As the story goes on people start to seem different and are not who they appear to be. Everyone does research on each other to find out the truth. They discover that Sam had made some big mistakes in his life. Angela also discovers that her clues about "America the Beautiful" could win the game. Turtle confesses that the man lying on the floor kind of looked like a wax figure. Judge ford believes that Sam Westing could be alive to watch the fun! Judge ford also discovered that Sam got in a car crash and he had gotten plastic surgery on his face so he could look like anyone.
  • Through clues the mysteries unfold and all the heirs decide to share and collabrate the clues to solve the game.
  • As a result of the Westing game, the lawyer reveals there was no murderer. Sam Westing actually had four separate identities that were based off the four cardinal directions. Sam Westing millionaire, Barney Northrup realtor, Mr. Eastman and Sandy Mcsoutherns the dorman. Sam Westing just wanted everyone to have peace and happiness.
  • The theme of the westing game is people aren't who you think they are.
  • 3.5 because the book was very detailed and hard to keep track of all of the characters, clues, and identities in the book.
