  • Thank you, Shaman.
  • Alkawari, go on forth. You are ready for this next step in your life.
  • Purify me of all my wrongdoings and let me be better now as a grown up women.
  • So hungry and tired but I cannot sleep or eat. I must obey the Shaman and follow through with what I started.
  • Alkawari has finally hit an age where she has to start going to vision quests. Procedures before a vision quest include visiting a shaman so he/she could explain what it is and how to do it. Vision quests are very important to aboriginal youth because it is a step in there live that they all should and do proceed with.
  • I think i'm dreaming!
  • After meeting with the Shaman, Alkawari must go to a place she finds sacred and knows she can always go if something is not right. She must thank her creator for her life and all that he gave her.
  • What a great experience! It feels so good to be home.
  • Now it is the time to fast, pray and stay up without sleeping. Alkawari must build shelter so she could stay warm and have food for the night. Aboriginals do this to prepare for a sweat lodge because it purifies the mind, body and spirit. Alkawari must pray to her creator and thank him for all that she has.
  • No problem, Alkawari.
  • Thank you so much! This experience has been life changing for me!
  • Followed by praying, fasting and not sleeping, Alkawari can now go into a Sweat Lodge. She is now ready to encounter her spirit animal in her dream. Alkawari sees a Eagle high up in the beautiful sunset and is in shock. This is not just a vision, this symbolizes her future in life.
  • Alkawari returns home from a long day and feels more pure and good then ever. Alkawari shares the experience with her family but soon has to go speak to a elder about her experience and what she saw during the Sweat Lodge. This was a very eventful day for Alkawari and something she will always remember.
  • The Elder is now telling Alkawari that the things she saw were very significant and important to Aboriginal Spirituality. Alkawari now has to tell the Elder what she saw in her dream which was an Eagle. The Elder tells her that the Eagle represents renewed life and power. He says that this is because the Eagle flies higher then any other bird.
