It was a period of political, philosophical, artistic, and scientific achievements that formed a legacy with unparalleled influence on Western civilization. Greek myth takes many forms, from religious myths of origin to folktales and legends of heroes.

I'm the onlyGorgonwho is mortal; hence my slayer,Perseus, is able to kill me by cutting off my head. From the blood that spurted from her neck sprang Chrysaor andPegasus, those are my two sons byPoseidon.
