I am Nata, and I decided to leave my town, Isiuwa, because my Mam said that it was a beautiful world after going through the sandstorm, and I ended up here...
Wait a second... Our community was similar and very much controlled by by the Elders...
Plus, my society's chief was a very controlling and horrible person, manipulating our society from "angering the gods and go through the sandstorm brought on by them." But I trusted my Mam more...

Our community was the same; it was all controlled by the elders. No one could see color except me and the Giver, who kept every human emotion and historical memories.
Everybody was monotonous, except myself. And when people—especially kids—were not monotonous, abiding the Elders' rules, or were old, they would get "released." No one thought much of this release, thinking it was them leaving the society, but I watched the process with my own two eyes! They would inject this pin into those peoples foreheads and they would... die!
I was the next generation's Giver since I could see colors and feel emotions people usually couldn't—except the Giver himself. But I ran instead... with Gabe because he was given to us to develop better and to the rules of our controlling society... but he was practically like my younger brother and they were about to release him! So i had to run with him!

That's a bit like my town, where everything is controlled by time... I tried to fight with the controlling society but... I lost. I had to fight against the Ticktockman—the man who kept track of all time.
Unfortunately, my society was all work, no fun. Just tedious old work for everybody, in respect to time. If people didn't follow along, the time would be cut from their lifespan... It was bad. I tried to make life fun for the citizens through some... shenanigans! People laughed and had fun... yet they got 7 minutes behind schedule, delaying all of society from the strict schedule, which served as more motivation for the Ticktockman to find me... and execute me for my "crimes."
That means we all escaped successfully from our horrid societies!
So... I guess we all had similar societies, huh?
